About the Library:

The Hunter Public Library was founded in 1896 and has the special feature of two large show windows made available to local artists for shows.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Hunter Public Library is to meet, provide, and serve the needs of each and every member of the Hunter-Tannersville Central School District educationally, culturally, and recreationally.

We will support each person with information for life-long learning and the love of reading. We will provide free access to materials and services that promote and support independent learning, literacy, and cultural enrichment for the community. This includes:

  • an open and non-judgmental environment
  • a trained and competent staff
  • services valued by the community
  • appropriate technology to enhance our services
  • a well-maintained facility
  • quality children’s materials and programs

Board of Trustees:

Helen Kerr (President), Thomas Cannalonga, Peggy Rappleyea, Janet Reale, Beverly Resnik-Dezan, Cathy Farrell

The Board of Trustees meets monthly (2nd Wednesday) at 2:00. Meetings are open to the public.
